Akoya cultured pearls

Akoya pearls are native to Japan, but can also be cultivated in Southeast Asia, notably Thailand.

They have been obtained from the Pinctada Fucata pearl oyster for over a century, and are between 2 and 9 mm in diameter. They are naturally white, creamy white, pink, dark and, for pearls cultivated in the more temperate waters of Southeast Asia, golden.


Thanks to our visit to a pearl farm in Phuket, we now have local contacts for purchasing these pearls.
